About
My name is Dawn Cieslik, and I am running to be your next Blaine County Clerk because I believe our local government must work for the people, with transparency, efficiency, and a deep commitment to our community.
My roots in the Wood River Valley run deep. I was born in Sun Valley and raised in Ketchum and Hailey. My family has always been dedicated to local service—my mother, Chris Keirn, was a longtime educator in our schools, and my stepfather, Don Keirn, was a local businessman who served on the Hailey City Council for many years. Though my career took me away from the valley, I always considered Blaine County my home. I am honored to have returned and now dedicate my energy to serving the community that shaped me, volunteering at the Hailey Public Library and the Senior Connection.
My professional life has been defined by public service. I served honorably in the U.S. Navy and spent over 20 years working in county government. This isn't just a job for me; it's a calling. I am here to help people. My entire career has been focused on making government more accessible, responsive, and reliable for everyone. It is time to bring that dedication home to Blaine County.

Expert Management for Efficient Government
Your time is valuable. You deserve a County Clerk's office that runs smoothly and effectively. Below are the various responsibilities of the clerk’s office and how I will work to optimize efficiency.
Real Estate Transactions and Recording:Ensure that land record transactions are recorded accurately and timely to better serve our homeowners, buyers, and local businesses.
Elections:The public entrusts the County Clerk to run their elections fairly and safely. Free and fair elections are one of the foundations of our democracy, and these must continue. I will ensure that our election results are released accurately, expediently and securely.
Commissioner Meetings: I will work with the Blaine County Commissioners to provide minutes for their meetings in a prompt and detailed way, so the public is always informed about what their elected officials are working on.
Public Records: In my previous roles in county government, I have managed sensitive records with the highest ethical standards and personal integrity. I will continue to administer public records with the same rigor.
Financial Responsibility: As your Clerk, my office will partner with all county departments and financial analysts to ensure every tax dollar is managed with the highest level of fiscal responsibility. By balancing careful oversight with the real-world needs of our community, I will ensure our resources are used effectively to serve every resident.
County Courts: Residents interact with our justice system through the Clerk’s office every day—whether for jury duty, case filings, or public resources. My previous experience as a paralegal has equipped me with a deep understanding of the legal system's inner workings. As your Clerk, I will use that expertise to ensure our court services are not only efficient and legally sound, but also accessible and helpful to every member of our community.
Communication: My office will lead with a culture of responsiveness. Whether serving our residents or collaborating across departments, I will ensure that every message and request receives the attention it deserves.
